EFAS Scientific Committee has designed a very strong, practical, educational, and interactive programme for the Advanced Symposium in Madrid 2023. Special slots will be dedicated to the presentation of cases: Cases from delegates and Cases from my hospital locker.

The following selection criteria will be applied:

1. The applicant must be a member of EFAS.
2. The applicant must be the presenter of the case and the first author.
3. The abstract/case must concern a clear practical approach on any of the topics covered in the programme.
4. The abstract/case must be written according to the general criteria of the Advanced Symposium for abstract/case submission in the abstract platform.
5. The case should have not been published or been accepted for publication in a peer reviewed journal.
6. Where applicable, the study has to be approved by a Medical Ethical Committee and no data from patients should be revealed.
7. A 250-maximum word abstract that presents a concise summary of the case that has not been presented elsewhere or previously accepted for publication.

Clinical Case Awards

Presenters of all cases will be in competition and their presentation will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Originality of the case
• Case Management
• Presentation (pictures, videos, learning points from the case)
• Answers to questions

Accepted abstracts/cases will be selected for a quick-shot-4-minute oral presentation and a 6-minute discussion.

Two cases will be selected among all presented during the Advanced Symposium and the results of the competition will be announced during EFAS Awards session:

EFAS Best Case Award will receive an Award certificate and a prize – €2,000.

IFFAS Best Case Award will receive an Award Certificate and a prize – €1,000.

Presenting your clinical case during EFAS Advanced Symposium will allow you to give your work worldwide long-term exposure and multinational connections with foot and ankle professionals. Cases will be presented in highly interactive and educational sessions. Surgeons will present their cases to two experts on the topic who will moderate the session, facilitate interaction with the audience, prompt discussions, and challenge the presenters and the audience. Case presentations will be organised by topic and featured on the final programme.
